The Book Loft Branding Campaign

The Book Loft is a weekly, after school literacy program through the Harrisonburg Children’s Museum dedicated to reading and literacy improvement through fun and interactive methods. Illiteracy is a growing concern among our youth in the United States. Studies show that illiteracy can be linked to slower problem solving skills, higher high school drop out rates, and lower-income jobs in a child’s future. This program will benefit children in grades one through five from low income families and give them access to books at home that they will be interested in and want to read. This brand offers a fun, kid-friendly vibe while focusing on providing information to parents.

Through The Book Loft program, children will receive Book Boxes to jump start their interest in reading. The Book Boxes are customized to fit books of all shapes and sizes. With sections on the front and back of the divider to put books in, it is capable of carrying all of the books a child will need on their reading level and will also be easy for them to carry. Each book box will display the logo on the front panel, the level number on the side panels, and a version of the mission statement on the back panel. Each book that a child receives in their Book Box will be individually wrapped for a unique experience, conveying the message that reading is a gift. It is for this reason that each book is wrapped up like a present for the children to open, revealing their new adventure.

*Please note that this is an original but hypothetical branding concept.
